SpecificityThis assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of insulin. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between insulin and analogues was observed.
-
Detection Range39.1-10,000pg/mL. The standard curve concentrations used for the CLIA's were 10,000pg/mL, 2,500pg/mL, 625pg/mL, 156.3pg/mL, 39.1pg/mL.
-
SensitivityThe minimum detectable dose of insulin is typically less than 15.1pg/mL. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest protein concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determined the mean RLU value of 20 replicates of the zero standard subtracted by their two standard deviations.

Product Description specificalPrinciple of the assay: The microtiter plate provided in this kit has been pre-coated with a monoclonal antibody specific to insulin. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between biotin labeled insulin and unlabeled insulin (Standards or samples) with the pre-coated antibody specific to insulin. After incubation the unbound conjugate is washed off. Next, avidin conjugated to Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to each microplate well and incubated. The amount of bound HRP conjugate is reverse proportional to the concentration of insulin in the sample. Then the mixture of substrate A and B is added to generate glow light emission kinetics. Upon plate development, the intensity of the emitted light is reverse proportional to the insulin level in the sample or standard.
