SpecificityThis assay has high sensitivity and excellent specificity for detection of human HB-alpha. No significant cross-reactivity or interference between human HB-alpha and analogues was observed.
SensitivityThe minimum detectable dose of human HB-alpha is typically less than 2.73 ng/ml. The sensitivity of this assay, or Lower Limit of Detection (LLD) was defined as the lowest human HB-alpha concentration that could be differentiated from zero. It was determi

Product Description specificalPrinciple of the assay: This assay employs the direct competitive inhibition enzyme immunoassay technique. Antibody specific for HB-alpha has been pre-coated onto a microplate. Standards and samples are pipetted into the wells with biotin-conjugated HB-alpha. A competitive inhibition reaction is launched between HB-alpha (Standards or samples) and biotin-conjugated HB-alpha with the pre-coated HB-alpha antibody. After washing, avidin conjugated Horseradish Peroxidase (HRP) is added to the wells. Following a wash to remove any unbound reagent, a substrate solution is added to the wells and color develops in opposite to the amount of HB-alpha bound in the initial step. The color development is stopped and the intensity of the color is measured.
